Male and female, He created them
We were given the answers to the trans test. Why did it take so long to speak the truth?
There are no asterisks in my Bible.
When it says that every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, there’s no asterisk that excludes you.
When it says “male and female, He created them” as in Genesis 1:27, there was no asterisk that excluded Lia Thomas, or the struggling teenager who was groomed to think they were born in the wrong body.
We were given the answer to the trans test long ago. So why did it take us a decade, collectively, to speak the truth we were all raised on?
Male and female, He created them.
It’s so very easy to say now, with the war won. Why was it so hard to say at the beginning, when we were told that teenagers had preferred pronouns?
Note the byline on that story, and note the dateline. I was part of the problem too. It would not be until the pandemic that I regularly spent time reading the Bible. In my right mind, I never would have flirted with these ideas.
This week the University of Pennsylvania bowed its knee and confessed with its tongue to reality: Male and female, He created them.
There is a such thing as men, there is a such thing as women, and when UPenn let Lia Thomas compete on the women’s swimming team, they were letting a man compete against women.
Thomas will be stripped of the titles and records won competing against women.
Male and female, He competed them. Separately.
There are silent spots in the Bible. There are times when we have to consult with clergy who know the book better than we do. But Genesis 1:27 couldn’t be clearer. We were never given the power to countermand a direct order.
The want to play God, to be “like God,” drove Eve to commit the first human sin, and Adam to partake in it. The trans psyop plays God in two ways.
What God created is wrong.
I can decide for myself what is true.
That same two-part process leads to abortion, the ultimate expression of playing God — literally deciding who lives and who dies. Bad things happen when we put the book down and decide things for ourselves.
If we’d been standing on the solid rock 10 years ago, we wouldn’t have spent so much time in sinking sand. Some semblance of order has been restored, and that’s a good thing.
But what took so long? And what made you so hesitant to speak God’s word?
Male and female, He created them. See? No asterisk.
