See something, say something
“Rescue those being led away to death.” A word on our duties to our fellow man, from Proverbs 24.
Proverbs 24:11: “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.”
When you see a friend headed down a bad path, what do you do? The obvious ones — alcoholism, gluttony and promiscuity. Probably the biggest wreckers of homes.
What do you say?
Do you say anything?
Proverbs 24:11 teaches us to “hold back those staggering toward slaughter.”
This we owe our fellow man.
And it’s never been a tougher ask than in the 2020s.
To steer someone from slaughter is to offer tough love in a Yasss Kween culture. On the other end, many are in no mood to be “cared for” in that way. Know your personnel.

To speak up takes the courage to say: friend, what you’re doing is wrong and dangerous and will cost you.
To see something and say something is talk truth at a time when fewer people by the day identify with reality. It’s old-fashioned. That’s exactly why it will work.
You can’t save the sheep, generally, but you can save a sheep who doesn’t want to go over the cliff.
Speak truth to your people. It may save their lives. It may keep families together.
If you see something, say something.
